Enrollment at St. Bernard-Elmwood Place

Registration for enrollment is in person at the St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Board of Education Office, 105 Washington Ave. in St. Bernard.
Registration Hours:
Monday through Friday
8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
District Enrollment
Families living in St. Bernard or Elmwood Place who have a child(ren) entering grades K-12 for the 2026-27 school year can enroll in our district at the Board of Education Office.
The following items/documents are required for registration:
- Child's original birth certificate
- Parent's driver's license or passport
- Child's immunization record
- Custody papers (if applicable)
- Two proofs of residency (includes current mortgage, rental/lease agreement (must be dated within the last 12 months, list all occupants, be signed by landlord and tenant, and include the landlord's contact information), mortgage, purchase contract, copy of deed, land contract, property tax bill, paystub with address, income tax documents (federal, state, or local), current water, gas, or Spectrum bill (must be dated within the past 60 days), and a statement from the federal, state, or local government (Job & Family Services, Social Security, Child Support Enforcement Agency, etc.))
- Copy of child's IEP/504 (if applicable)
Kindergarten Eligibility
A child is eligible to start Kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year if they are five on or before August 13, 2026.
Kindergarten students are required to have a Physical Examination and Oral Assessment completed and signed by a doctor. Please click the links below to download and print the following:
Preschool (resident families)
If you have a preschool-age child (three or four year old by August 13, 2026) and live in St. Bernard or Elmwood Place, bring the following documents to the Board of Education office to complete an application to be placed on the list for preschool:

Open Enrollment
St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Schools will begin accepting open enrollment applications for the 2026-27 school year at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6!
