A Titan Junior studying at Scarlet Oaks is preparing for state competition in industrial diesel mechanics. Thad Gutu will be competing in the Skills USA Ohio State Championship in industrial diesel technologies in Columbus on April 17. Thad is only the second junior to ever compete at this level!
“Thad is a class leader and dedicated to his program,” said Industrial Diesel instructor Dennis Hogel. He already has 5 apprenticeship employers looking at him. “Thad will get summer placement at one of these companies and upon graduation, the opportunity for full-time employment starting out in the $18-20 per hour range,” Hogel said.
Cheer on Thad Gutu as he represents Scarlet Oaks and St. Bernard-Elmwood Place City Schools at the state level, and puts in hard work on a path to a high-paying career.
