Welcome to St. Bernard-Elmwood Place City Schools

Dear SBEP Parents and Guardians,

Because of a recent increase in COVID-19 cases within our district and at the recommendation of the Hamilton County Public Health Department, Elmwood Place Elementary School and St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Jr./Sr. High School will be closing for in-person instruction and going to remote learning for one week.  Remote learning will begin on Monday, January 25th, and continue through Friday, January 29th.  Students at these school will return to in-person learning on Monday, February 1st.

During this period of remote learning, there will be no SBEP sports practices, games, or meets of any kind.  PSAT testing on Tuesday, January 26th, will be postponed.

PLEASE NOTE:  This announcement does not apply to St. Bernard Elementary.  This building has had no cases of COVID-19 and will continue with in-person instruction next week.

After contact tracing and consultation with the Hamilton County Public Health Department, it has been determined that the recent increase in the district's COVID-19 cases is due to some students' exposure to the virus outside of school.

Please visit The Health Collaborative Test and Protect website for information regarding free testing and COVID-19 information:  https://healthcollab.org/testandprotect.

As a district, the current measures we have in place are working.  We continue to practice social distancing, to mandate the wearing of masks, to give frequent opportunities for everyone to wash hands and use hand sanitizer, and to properly sanitize the school.  We encourage everyone to continue to be vigilant at home and in the community to keep our kids healthy and safe.

We regret the hardships this one-week closing will cause some of our families.  As always, we intend to provide the safest possible environment for everyone.  If you have any questions, please contact your child's respective building principal.

Sincerely,

Mimi R. Webb
