![]() St. Bernard-Elmwood Place City Schools want all students to be successful. Our staff recognizes that children learn differently and that, at times, we need to employ additional strategies to assist students who experience difficulty in developing academic or other behavioral skills. Intervention-Based Services (IBS) is a problem-solving process that works to meet the needs of all students. In using IBS, the parent(s), teacher(s), and student (when appropriate) work together to build a plan to address the concerns and needs of the individual student. The goal of IBS is to support the student in becoming successful as quickly as possible. While the elementary schools in our district have used this service delivery system for more than several years, our Junior High School is completing the initial year training process, working collaboratively with our colleagues at the Southwest Ohio Special Education Regional Resource Center (SERRC). Each of the three buildings has a building planning team, made up of "stakeholders" (teachers, administrators, special educators, support staff, SERRC consultant, and parents), which meets regularly throughout the school year to develop plans to facilitate the process working to meet building needs. For further information, please refer to the attached informational brochure, or contact your child's school.
